Lactation Consultation
Serenity Pediatrics is proud to have an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and lactation-certified Registered Nurses on staff to provide breastfeeding support to our patients. Our lactation consultant and nursing team helps our patients to navigate a number of feeding challenges, including: poor milk supply, struggles with finding the right nursing position, breastfeeding pain, common breastfeeding issues such as baby falling asleep at the breast or refusing to breastfeed, help to address emotional and physical barriers to breastfeeding, and provide personalized support for any new parent on their breastfeeding journey.
A Note From Our IBCLC, Kara:
“ At Serenity Pediatrics, we know welcoming a new baby comes with so much joy, but also so many questions. Especially, when it comes to breastfeeding. We want you to know you are not alone after you leave the hospital. We have a specially trained Lactation Consultant available at our office to support mothers with whatever your breastfeeding goals may be.
Many of our mothers schedule lactation visits for: help latching their newborn, painful latch, worries about their milk supply, how to breastfeed/bottle feed after returning to work, slow weight gain infant…and just general support and encouragement! Early support can make such a difference! Consider scheduling a lactation visit during your first weeks with your newborn. But if those newborn days have passed and you are still struggling to meet your breastfeeding goals, it is not too late to get the help you deserve.”
